Blumination Dream Trail wins Ontario Tourism Event of the Year Award!

The best of the best in Ontario tourism were celebrated at the annual Ontario Tourism Awards of Excellence Gala on Wednesday, Oct. 30 at Blue Mountain Village Conference Centre. These awards recognize tourism industry successes across the province by honouring individuals and businesses that have made significant contributions to Ontario’s tourism industry.

Blumination Dream Trail wins Ontario Tourism Event of the Year Award!

Blue Mountain Village Association proudly accepted the Tourism Event of the Year award for the 2018 Blumination Dream Trail. “We are thrilled with the success of the Dream Trail and the recognition of the creativity and innovation that our team poured into this project” remarked Patti Kendall, Director Marketing and Events, Blue Mountain Village Association. “We’re so fortunate to have local partners like The Landmark Group and Smash Reality who helped us bring our vision to life and create a unique winter experience like no other in the province.

Opening Night: Saturday, November 30
6:30-8:30pm

Dancing Light Displays to Music
Throughout the Village at 6, 7, 8 & 9pm
Between dusk and 9pm on the hour, the sound of upbeat music will fill the Blue Mountain Village and lights will dance to the rhythm!  

Frost the Fox, Snowflake Princess & Jack Frost
Events Plaza, 6:30-8:30pm
Meet the Blue Mountain Village mascot, Frost the Fox, along with the magical Snowflake Princess and winter's very own mascot, Jack Frost! A great photo opportunity!  

Glow-In-The-Dark Groove Dancing
Village Stage, 7:15pm
Our resident groove dancing instructor, Tyler Boyle, will lead an interactive groove dancing session - featuring glow sticks! 

Fireworks Over the Mill Pond
Mill Pond, 8:15pm
Enjoy a beautiful fireworks display over the Mill Pond at 8:15pm (weather permitting). Enjoy the fireworks before or after you walk the Blumination Dream Trail to make a perfect evening!

About Blumination Dream Trail:

The Blumination Dream Trail It’s a free one-kilometer winter stroll through the heights of innovation to the edge of your imagination. Follow the trail along beautiful, tree-lined pedestrian streets and pathways through the Village and around the Mill pond to discover magical, mega-watt light displays. From the “Ice Garden” to the “Enchanted Forest” and through the “Mind Warp”, to name a few, it’s an exciting and interactive adventure sure to spark the imagination of the whole family. The journey ends in the Events Plaza where the illuminated “Dream Tree” is the focus of an amazing visual and musical display every hour on the hour. And, new this year, each creative installation will “dance to the music” - also on the hour from dusk to 10 pm – making it a truly multi-sensory experience. All of this plus fireworks at 8:15 Saturday nights in December!
