Local Artist, Scotty Kipfer, releases his debut album

Scotty Kipfer is no stranger to the country music industry in Canada. The Blue Mountains resident’s efforts contributed to the success of artists like Brett Kissel, Dean Brody, Tim Hicks, and Bobby Wills. Now, Scotty is stepping out into the spotlight with the release of his debut album, Taking My Time.

Taking My Time is a collection of 11 original songs, which Scotty produced in Nashville with an all-star band. “To have guys from Tim McGraw, Vince Gill, and John Mayer’s bands in the studio was a pretty surreal experience,” says Kipfer. “I’m really excited about the way the record came together, and I’m stoked to finally have it out.” The record features collaborations with American Idol alum, Janelle Arthur, British Columbia native, Emily Reid, and the award-winning Western Swing Authority.

Scotty just returned from a coast-to-coast promotional tour, on which he performed on radio and television stations across the country. He is set to perform on August 18 at the Marsh Street Centre in Clarksburg.

“The album’s mix of 90s nostalgic country and more modern pop/rock is really enjoyable,” writes Rebecca Mattina in her review of Taking My Time for Canadian Beats. “It’s an easy fit for modern country radio. Kipfer’s experience in the industry and his work in Nashville has certainly paid off. Here’s hoping he continues developing his sound and writing great songs for us to enjoy. Country music just gained an important up-and-comer.”

Taking My Time is available now on all digital outlets, and physical copies are available at the Thornbury Village Cidery.
