Town Brings Back Annual Volunteer Recognition Awards; Call for Nominations & Selection Sub-Committee Members

The Town of The Blue Mountains is pleased to announce it is bringing back volunteer recognition with the launch of a new annual Volunteer Recognition program to celebrate and honour outstanding residents and organizations that have helped shape and build the community.

“On behalf of Council, I am thrilled to announce the Town is bringing back volunteer recognition starting in 2022,” says Mayor Alar Soever. “Over the course of the past two years, our community has faced challenges head-on, and this ceremony provides a great opportunity for us to celebrate our resiliency and recognize The Blue Mountains community builders together.”

The annual Volunteer Recognition program will feature seven award categories that aim to recognize individual volunteers and community groups for their contribution to the local community. The deadline to submit nominations is Friday, March 25, 2022. To view the award categories and to nominate an individual or group for their dedication to the community, please complete the online nomination form by visiting the Volunteer Recognition Awards webpage.

The awards ceremony will be held annually in April during National Volunteer Recognition Week. The event date for this year will be announced within the coming weeks.
