The Gravity Of Black Holes

Thursday, July 9, 2020 1:30pm - 2:30pm
Location: The Blue Mountains Public Library Zoom

Do you want to go to a Black Hole? Join astronomer Ian Wheelband from the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada for a virtual discovery experience on gravity, relativity, and black holes. We will do some experiments together, you in your home and us in ours. We’ll send you a short list of things you will need to learn about what holds us grounded on the solid earth of our home planet. You will be able to find the items around your home. After we learn some of the unique properties of gravity and relativity, we’ll use that knowledge to plan our trip to a Black Hole in space. You will need a computer or laptop with a web camera, or a tablet or smart phone to participate in this event. Once registered, you will be sent a Zoom Meeting ID and password to attend this program.
